Thank You Letter to our Friends
Washington Crossing Wreaths for Veterans (WCWFV) committee would like to take this time to thank all the groups and individuals who took part in this year’s 2025 Wreaths Across America (WAA) event.
To the WCWFV committee, Denise Taylor, Fran Grous, Bernadette Hart, Diane Anderson, Alicia Raffle and Brian Longmore, for all the planning and implementation it takes to facilitate this event. Also, to our families and friends who gave their time to assist us throughout the week.
A special thanks to Jason Guenther, his staff and Rich McNulty and the grounds crew of Washington Crossing National Cemetery (WCNC) for their support and assistance with the WAA event.
To Kyle McCauley of HML Container Services for providing the manpower and equipment to unload and stage the wreaths throughout the cemetery. Also, for the removal of the pallets and cardboard boxes from the cemetery.
To all the volunteers who came out in the cold weather on Friday to unpack and stage the wreaths throughout the cemetery and on Saturday to place the ceremonial wreaths at each headstone. Without your help and positive attitudes, it would have been one long weekend for WCWFV!
A special thanks to the Pennsylvania State Police officers and Upper Makefield Township Police department who provided a safe and orderly traffic flow in WCNC and the local roads. Over 700 cars passed through the cemetery in a span of three hours.
To Newtown Ambulance Squad for providing onsite service in case of an emergency. To Rich McCulough and William Penn Fire House for providing their field fire truck to indicate the temporary cemetery entrance.
To the ambassadors who accepted our invitation to spend the four hours needed to greet the families, friends and volunteers that came out to Honor and Remember our Veterans buried at WCNC.
To Rich Behrmann for supplying the ceremony sound system, and to all the ceremony participants.
A Very Special Thanks to the twenty-some WAA Fundraising Groups supporting WCNC and ALL the individuals, families, businesses and companies who also sponsored a wreath(s). Your continued generosity amounted to 74% of Mission, or 15,240 of the 20,749 wreaths needed to Honor all veteran headstones this year. There are an additional 6,514 veterans interred in the two Columbaria’s that we were not able to Honor this and in past years, due to the shortage of funds needed to Honor ALL Veterans!
Keep in mind that the government and cemetery Do Not supply the wreaths.
ALL wreaths are sponsored solely by Private Entities.
P.S. Remember to join us on Monday, January 19, 2026. Martin Luther King Day to pick up and dispose of all wreaths.
It was my Pleasure to Talk, Meet and Work with EVEYONE, in Honoring our Fallen Heroes!
Thank You and Happy Holidays,
Raymond P. Mongillo II
